Bon Voyage- Farewell to Seniors

On 18th of August our college union organized a virtual farewell to our seniors. We were really upset on the fact that we were unable to part with our seniors on a happy and pleasant note as the corona crisis had struck us unexpectedly. After much discussions on the pros and cons of having it online, we decided to have it at any cost. It required meticulous planning and cooperation both from the part of teachers and students. 

The union members were delegated with specific charges or areas which we had to take care. Though we had a major drawback of being physically apart from each other, we made best use of technology to bridge that shortcoming. We decided to have several sections of memory sharing, games, performances from both our classmates as well as seniors. We tried our level best to conduct it as planned and was overwhelmed on knowing that they enjoyed it.

Mixed emotions!

Annual Day 2020

On 18th August, our college had our annual day celebrations. It was a difficult task to have such a significant event through an online platform. Our college union members and teachers shouldered all obstacles and made the event a hassle-free and memorable event. The session had addresses from our Director, Fr Sony Sebastian CMI, Principal, Dr. M S Geetha, Manager, Fr Robin Anandakattu CMI and our teachers. 

The General Secretary of college union 2018-120, Ms Sruthy Rajan presented the annual report. Our principal Ms Geetha presented the report of the year encompassing the gist of all important events that occurred during the course of the year.

Independence Day 2020

We had a wonderful independence day celebration by our college. The teacher conveners Ms Soumya Devi and Ms Chinju did a great job by organizing and coordinating several competitions and activities. The formal function began by 9:30 with the flag hoisting ceremony by our beloved director Fr. Sony Sebastian CMI. It was followed by father's and principal's address. Several competitions like speech, quiz, poster making etc were conducted class wise. We, the college union had prepared a short video as an independence day message and it was presented before our friends and teachers.

Workshop on e-content development

On 4th August our college organized a workshop on Unlocking the Potentials of Technology to aid our online learning and e-content development. The session was taken by Mr. Naushat A Salim, Assistant Professor, KUCTE Kulakada, Kollam. Sir briefed us on several applications and websites that help us take our tasks of e-content development to the next level. He detailed on the broadened prospects of the Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 that left no areas unattended. The session was comprehensive and fruitful.

When parents sought to expert opinion!

On August 1st, the newly elected PTA of our college organized a webinar Fighting the Pandemic with Dr. Amar Fettle, Kerala State Nodel Officer, Covid-19 as the resource person. Earlier we had a session with Dr. Fettle and owing to the amazing feedback we had given to our college authorities, they decided to organize a session for our parents as well.

The session began with a formal meeting addressed by our principal Dr M.S. Geetha and our director Fr. Sony Sebastian CMI. Then a very interactive and lively session was held by Dr. Fettle followed by a doubt clarifying session. Then session was concluded by a vote of thanks presented by the PTA president Mr. Rajan C M.

Lockdown Meetup!

On the 30th of July, our college organized the first PTA meeting of our batch. Usually the meeting is held after our university results are published. But as the results were not published as expected and the lock down prevailed to uncertainty, our college decided to host it via Google Meet. 

The meeting began by 5 pm with a formal talk and then our principal briefed the plan of execution of our curriculum in the lock down scenario to our parents. 

In addition to the discussion on academics and other activities, the election of the PTA representatives for the year 2020-21 was also done.
